css set to domain

  1. May i know what is the meaning of css set to domain. Can you let me know how we do this.

    I agree the term "css set to domain" could mean a number of different things and the OP needs to clarify, but I think you could be on the right track. The article you linked to describes an approach similar to some of the best practice rules for web performance described in this YDN article: http://developer.yahoo.com/performance/rules.html. Please refer to the items titled "Split Components Across Domains" and "Use Cookie-free Domains for Components" to draw comparisons.
     
  3. ...I've seen many ASP.NET developers warning people to not use things like this.
    (Because Google has been warning them that page ranks will suffer.)
    In return those same Developers all pointed out that Google uses it. ;-)
    Crazy world out there...right? :)

  4. Yes, despite them being good suggestions so for the little guy it becomes a balance between performance and Google paranoia. I suppose if you are Yahoo or some other web super power, then it is simply about performance because Google ranking would never be significantly affected.
