  1. Hi,

Can I just confirm that the most painless way of creating a pdf report (build spec for a product that is then emailed to the manufacturer) is via SQL Server Reporting Services?

I suspect it is but just want to check.

    Thanks in advance,

    Will

The simplest way to create reports and save them as the pdf files is by using Report Builder 2.0 software. This is a free desktop application developed by Microsoft, and it can be downloaded here. This is a stand-alone application and it does not require SQL Server Reporting Services for creating reports and saving them in the format you want.

You can, however, deploy the reports you built in Report Builder to SSRS where they can be centrally managed, generated, and delivered on a scheduled basis. Reports deployed to SSRS also can be viewed online by registered users.
