  1. Please help me on this :(

i am trying to add a secondary mail server to my discountasp account (I am hosting mails on other hosting company). everything is working fine except that i want to add a secondary MX record on the DNS Manager but it is not taking.
everytime i add a new entry it tells me that domain is not valid, it seems that it doesnt take more than MX record for a single domain or else i have to use a subdomin, please if you can show me a way to do it.

  2. If you go to the DSN manager, click on the NEW button underneath the MX section so you can add the new MX record.

You should leave the Domain Name box empty, and the destination to be filled out with the mail server you want. Distance will have to be set to something different, like 20 or 30, depending on which one you want to have priority (the smaller number gets priority).

It isn't recommended to have two completely different mail servers in your MX records, as these servers aren't linked and could cause problems where email might be going to your secondary email server.

  3. Thanks alot it worked, actually i was trying to do the same as what you described but it seems that it is not working well with firefox, using explorer fixed the problem

  4. That's odd.... I use Firefox at all times, and never ran into this problem. Oh well, at least you got it working and figured out the issue.
