  1. Can we use the permalink URL rewrites to make our WordPress URL's more SEO friendly? I am using the command below, but the links do not work. Everything works fine as long as I have default selected, otherwise, no...

mod_rewrite is an Apache module, it doesn't exist on IIS servers, so the default WordPress URL rewrite will not work.

IIS 7 does have it's own URL rewrite module now, so you can still do the rewrite. It's just going to be a lot more complicated to get what you want (if it's possible). search for URL Rewrite on the forum here and you'll find a lot of threads. Here's a good one.

Oh sweet! I hadn't noticed that in WP.

    lead2crm, check out that link.

  7. I just looked at:

    http://ruslany.net/2009/05/iis-7-url...-wordpress-28/

and it mentioned how it would look in 2.8, I have 3.01 and it doesn't look like that.

(In somewhat related news, I have downloaded and connected to my site in IIS7 Manager.)

  8. Boom-- I got it. I downloaded the URL Rewrite when in IIS7 and then tried the permalink section of wordpress and it automatically updated my web.config file (since it was writeable)

  9. Boy, that was easy. Thanks guys.
