  1. Hi,

Has anyone been able to the Web Application Tool to get BlogEngine to work in a subfolder within an existing MVC 3 ASP.Net 4.0 application? It seems like it is not possible to achieve this with DiscountASP.

I am having an absolute nightmare and would really appreciate simple step by step instructions. Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Andy

  2. I have been able to install this new version without issues and some minor tweeks.

Is there particular URL we can take a look at to better help you out?

  3. Hi,

Yes. Please take a look at http://iTradePod.com/pmablog3.

It works fine on my local machine but when I ftp upload it to DiscountASP it no longer works. Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

  4. Seems like you got it working, is everything good to go with your new blogengine install?

  5. BlogEngine.Net will not save settings!

Yes and no. I can login, post and add users but when I try to save settings on any of the Settings pages (off the Settings tab) nothing is ever saved. I am clueless as to what the solution maybe - DiscountASP support say that the App_Data folder has Write permission set.

(the default passwords are still in place for you to try)

  6. I went ahead and double checked your permissions for you and everything seems fine.

  7. BlogEngine 2.5 as a Web App working inside a MVC 3 Web App subfolder

Now I have BlogEngine 2.5 as a Web Application fully working within a subfolder of my existing ASP.NET 4 MVC 3 Web Application. :)

The problem was that when I converted BlogEngine 2.5 to a Web App additional jQuery files mysteriously appeared in the Script folder as pointed out by rtur, a BlogEngine Forum coordinator.

    Thanks for your support.

  8. No problem thanks for the rtur mention seems like an interesting informative site.

  9. Can't save settings

I really don't understand why a clean install of BlogEngine from the Web App Gallery doesn't just work.

After plenty of screwing around with web.config, the blog itself finally works, but it won't save any settings. I can create & edit posts, add users, etc so it doesn't appear to be a permissions issue.

itradepodco, where are these extra jquery files you mention?

  10. extra jquery files

    Hi David.

The extra jquery files were in the BlogEngine.Net Script folder.
