HTTP vs. HTTPS

    Out of curiosity is there a similar method, other than saving and passing all user variables and redirecting/posting to the secure handle site, to ensure a user is using a secure Https connection in the event they arbitrarily access a site without the 'S' ie. http instead of https?

    By any chance would the server.redirect pass all values from a post as well or only the server/session variables?
