  1. I just found out about the switch to SmarterMail. I assume @Mail wasn't cutting it? Can't say I'm surprised...it was buggy. The attachment issue alone was a showstopper. I switched back to Squirrelmail about 2 months ago.

Any idea on the expected start of the opt-in period for SmarterMail? I know its somewhat variable based on waiting for the proper amount of usage data to accumulate with the new customers, but just looking for a ballpark idea (e.g. Q4 2007, Q1 2008, etc)

Also which version are you implementing? Free, Pro, or Enterprise?

    Thanks!

Yes. We will eventually phase our @Mail & Squirrel mail once we complete the migration.

We are working on a migration plan that generate least impact to our customers.

If you do not have a lot of email accounts, we can move your domain now. Create a support ticket, we can give you the details.

We are running on Enterprise version.

  3. This is a releif. I logged in to post my fear about having my mail system switched. I was using the "beta" of something that I now guess was "@Mail" and kinda hated it. I switched back to SquirrelMail some weeks ago.

So, can I try out this new "SmarterMail" thing or is that what the opt-in process is all about?

  6. Well after using it most of the day while at work I can say that, so far, I'm quite pleased.
Speed-wise it is good, which surprised me with how many features it has. I also like being able to change the refresh rate that emails are checked.

The only things I've spotted so far that I don't like are:
    1. the lack of being able to request a read receipt
    2. When you read a mail and delete it it displays the next mail whereas Squirrelmail would return you to your Inbox, which is more to my liking.

So basically, so far so good (most of the time) :)

  7. I've just moved onto Smartermail so will give it a while longer before deciding what I think of it.

However, I was kind of hoping that a solution that would work well on mobiles and PDA's would be implemented - this one is definitelyfor the desktop only!

Plus, I can see know way of requesting a read receipt - searching their forum has a number of posts that imply this is not possible but some of those posts are very old.

    Regards,
    Simon
