  1. Orchard uses SQL CE – does this count as ‘requires Microsoft SQL’?

How is SQL CE performing on DiscountASP.NET? Fast? Slow?

When new versions of web apps become available that supersede the default DiscountASP.NET installed versions, I understand that it is the users’ responsibility to install the update. How does that work?

  2. Hi Peter,
Sorry for the delay in responding.
Orchard will run slower with SQL CE but that is not the fault of the DASP servers, it's because the Compact Edition isn't robust and it doesn't have it's own separated data server like SQL Server does here.
Erik has stated that Orchard runs great with SQL Server, here's a thread on how some have done it:

    All the best,

Use real SQL server whenever it is possible.

  4. @Mark - thx for the answer. The link you have in your post is to "some other thread" - Erik never puts in an appearance.

from what ive read lately, it appears that CE is for one (1) person accessing the data at a time! as in, windows phone apps.

it looks to me that @bruce is right
