301 Permanent Redirect

Discussion in 'Site Design, SEO, Google and Site Promotion' started by Sultan, Feb 21, 2006.

  1. We developed a new domain on the DASP servers several months ago & then pointed an existing domain to that account. The new domain is a dynamic site with much of the content of the previous site. This was done to reflect a change in company name/ownership, and to make the site easier to maintain & operate with the database.

Problem is, the search engines have indexed all of the new pages with the old domain name and very few pages with the new domain name. What's the best way for us to include a permanent redirect on the .NET pages hosted here without being penalized by Google, Yahoo, and MSN?

Also, I forgot to mention that the old site was all static HTML, whereas the new site has all ASPX pages.
