  1. Dear DiscountASP.NET Team,

I created a new FTP account for a member of my team. Given (R)ead and (W)rite access on the root folder itself. Still he is getting the following error

Response: 530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible.

Can some one help out please?

    Thanks and Regards,

    Deepak Vasudevan

The FTP username on Windows 2008/IIS7 requires a specific format (number, the pipe character and your user name). You can find this information in the Account Info/Edit section of your Control Panel. Any new FTP accounts you create will also adhere to this format.

  3. Got that. I was missing that pipe character. Thanks for the heads-up.

  4. Thanks for re-posting, this does trip-up a lot of people.
