Whilst I'm busy doing nothing (except looking for real job honest ;-)), I've developed my 2nd proof of concept Silverlight 2.0 application in Visual Studio 2008 / Blend. This one is a simple maze game that introduces: Collision detection Depth first maze generation and maze solving algorithms LINQ extension methods for a few useful method that Microsoft have opted to strip from the lightweight SL CLR A custom TextBlock XAML control that implements spin There is more to do in it but as it stands it is fully functional, is uploaded here http://www.jjssoftware.co.uk/mazegame/jjs.mazegamecontainer.aspx and complete source code is freely available for download at that location. You'd be right to literally call this Mickey Mouse software development. Enjoy! Update: New location. . . This project has now been moved here http://www.jjssoftware.co.uk/silverl...e/default.aspx.
Seems a little rigid. You could adjust collision detection so that when mickey's head is halfway/partially past a turn, if user presses direction of turn, then mickey slides around corner.
You're right it is very basic at the moment and sprite animation is one of the items on the todo list http://www.jjssoftware.co.uk/mazegame/readme.txt. I'll probably get round to these items after I finish the Silverlight website I'm currently working on..but if anyone fancies pitching in, the source code is there waiting to be worked on ;-) Any help is welcome and names can go on the credits etc
awesome!! Thanks for posting the code, I'm looking at making my first silverlight game and that will be helpful. surprisingly fun game, too!
Cheers Bruce, I don't like to go completely off topic in the forum so feel free to delete this post after reading. I would have preferred to send a PM but was unable to because I think you have disabled that option in your account. Yes I saw the DASP careers page but unfortunately Liverpool in the UK does not meet the "California and the surrounding areas" criteria. If you had a European office that would be great because telling the missus I'm planning on moving to other the other side of the planet will not go down very well ;-) It is a shame though because I believe DASP is a top organisation providing an excellent service, where the work would be very interesting and is a place I would enjoy working at.
This project has now been moved here http://www.jjssoftware.co.uk/silverlight/homepage/default.aspx. All of my future Silverlight development will be published at this location making it easier for me to manage and hopefully easier for anyone looking to find interesting stuff. The original URL published at the start of this thread will no longer work, so it probably needs a bit of forum administrator magic to remove this or fix it up.
