  1. Since the AddImageUrl is disable in the ABCpdf what is a good workaround?

I only need 2 things for this site, sql2005 and an html-pdf application, and discountasp.net has failed me on 1 of these.

This site need to give live ASAP.

    Thanks

  2. Really need addImage in ABCpdf

I have used ABCpdf to generate several documents online at it works well.

I really need the addImage routine, I can only go so far with HTML strings.

I have repeatedly asked DiscountASP support for this feature, with essentially no suggestions except to post on a Forum.

My most recent support ticket asked about workarounds... The Help system refers to a problem with Windows server 2003, in other places problems with IE browser function of some sort is mentioned.

I have tried to ask about Windows server 2008, I have tried to find out whether I can purchase ABCpdf and load it to my site and use it without the restriction preventing addImage. I did see in one closed thread on this forum:

"... If the componenent is mission critical to your website, then we would suggest puchasing the component and let them know that you are a DiscountASP.NET customer. "

    Can I really do this??

If there is no workaround, I need to know so that I can find another hosting company.

    Thanks.

    There is NO workaround.

Both Win2k3 / Win2k8 security policy blocks browsing with IE from the server. Since ABCPDF uses IE's core component to render the page, the same security policy applies.

You would have problem with almost all shared hoster. I would recommend you walk away from those hosters that have this security policy disabled. You may have to get some sort of VPS solution.

We are actively looking for PDF component that doesn't use the IE rendering engine.
