Adding Meta Tags to all my FrontPage web pages in one go?

Discussion in 'FrontPage' started by BarrySumpter, Feb 4, 2005.

  1. Hi all,

I've just sorted out my meta tags for my web site.

First Question... Do I need meta tags for all my web pages?

Second Questions... Is there a way that I can get FrontPage (2003) to add the meta tags to all my pages with one (say replace) command?

    Thanks,

    I'll address the First Question:

Though the importance of Meta Tagsfor search engine ranking has decreased over the years, I would still say it's important to use them (every little bit helps) - but I wouldn't recommend spendingALL your time on it and just focusing on Meta Tags.

Even though its a pain, ideally you should place different meta tag descriptions and keywords on all your pages. This way the descriptions and keywords are relevant to the individual page and you get to use different sets of keywords. Seach engines will not only index your home page but may index your other pages -so why not take advantage of castinga wider net by optimizing your individual web pages?

  3. Thanks for the fast reply Dasp,

    What a brilliant reply.

Not only answered my question but explained it as well.

    Top notch!

SearchEngineWatch is already on me list from other posts read here.

I just have to sort out Meta Tags first.

I just wanted the basic meta tag entries to be placed on about 60 pages.

Then I'll go thru them to enter the appropriate words.

    So the question still remains:

Is there a way that I can get FrontPage (2003) to add the meta tags to all my pages with one (say replace) command?
