  1. [IMG]Good to see you here Rob...

  2. Hi - Rob Conery here and I'm wondering if you guys support MVC (or will soon). If you need help from us - let me know. We have some users on our forums who are very interested.

We have not tested mvc on our server. As far as I know, it comes w/ ASP.NET 3.5 extension which is still in beta.

Wonder if you can just upload the dlls into the bin directory?

  4. Not even in beta yet - just CTP :). But there's no go-live associated so people are wanting to get there sites out there.

People can load the DLL up but there appears to be a permissions issue that causes the app to hang. We're looking into it on our end, but the problem is basically that

    1) if you're running Cassini it works
    2) if you load it to 2003 Server it works if it's GAC'd
    3) if you load it to an ISP it doesn't work

I think it's permissions - any thoughts? I'm on the MVC team btw and would love to nail this issue if you can help me....

I'd like to see if this will work too.

    I need more information though

    1) Do you get any error?

    2) What is the URL?

If you think it is a permission problem, we can run a filemon session to see if there's any access denied error.

    Mark,

Were you able to get MVC to work on our server? To be honest, we have not tested it.

Based on my research, I am getting mix information from different people. Some say that for mvc to work, asp.net 3.5 extension needs to be installed on the server but other say no.

We'll proceed to play w/ this as well. If you can get this to work, it will be great if you can post a little how-to.

    Thx.

  8. Have been running tests on my XP Pro SP2 machine but have not tested anything here yet.
I'll get a few tests running within the next hour or so.
(My SQL Server was on the hardware that failed today...Thanks for getting it back up so quickly.)

  9. Looks like the extensions do need to be installed.
Simple tests are failing, even just adding the reference to the web.config

I'll try again tomorrow but to be honest I'm scratching at pretty slim ropes on this one.
    Salute,

I don't think MVC will work unless it is installed on the server.
