  1. On the basic server setup you get 40GB/month. I see I can addon extra bandwidth now but what happens if my account happens to go over my current limit? For instance if I up it to 50GB/month and one month I get more than 50? Will I automatically be charged or will the site stop working or what?

    Thanks

We do not do automated overages. The site will stop working when you exceed the allotment. You will get an email warning when your usage gets up to 80% usage. We also provide a bandwidth meter in the control panel that you can review from time to time. Also, with our new Control Panel API, you can use the Usage Systray Alert Tool and set your own thresholds to receive alerts for bandwidth usage. See the DiscountASP.NET API section of our Community Forum.

To expand a little on what Eric said, in addition to the email notifying you of the overage, a member of our billing staff will contact you with an estimate of how much additional bandwidth you may need to keep the site up through the end of the month.

We do all we can to avoid disabling the site. The exception being those cases where we cannot contact the user to work out the overage, we don't receive a response to our emails, or the user wants to shut down the site for the remainder of the month to avoid the additional bandwidth charges.
