Hi, Say 1000 customers, pulling many pages from my site, heavy data usage...from SQL database and SOAP XML How would discountasp.net hosting cope with that ? Do they have or allow excellent bandwidth access for users ? Just curious
Yes, we allow excellent bandwidth for users. You don't mention any time frame for these 1000 users. Over a day? A week? All at once all the time? The question would boil down to what your application can withstand while not exceeding application pool limits. Bandwidth would not likely enter into the picture. In any event, predictions such as this are nearly impossible to address due to all the variables involved.
300 visitors at a time is not a tremendous burden under most circumstances. But yeah, it depends on what those 300 are doing, and how you're serving it up to them. But 300 visitors at a time is a lot of traffic if you sustain it consistently, and if that's the case, shared hosting is eventually going to fail you in one way or another.
