  1. Hi,

has anybody tried - or can you recommend -any blogging software for use with discountasp .net?

I can't find any decent and freeblog-specific softwaregeared specifically towards .net based websites- community server is too expensive -need something quick and easy to install, and free, orat leastcheap!

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers

  2. Do you want ASP or ASP.NET? (Please mention your Database preference also.)

  3. If it's an option, I would consider using blogger. You can template it up to look exactly like your site, like I did here:

  4. Hi again, thanks for the replies -

wisemx - I'd prefer ASP .NET, and I'm open to suggestions for the database... I've heard SQL Express databases can be run like and Access database (so no extra hosting payments) - is that true, and if so, is there anything out there I can use with SQL Express, or perhaps Access. Paying for extra database room using DiscountASP is an option, but not one I want to take if there isanything else avilableout there that I can just upload, configure and use.
JerSchneid - I want toown my own blog and not have it hosted through another service, though I can understand now that it's the quickest way to set up a blog!

    Thanks again.

  5. Community server is free btw, you dont have to pay for the commercial type licenses if you dont want to. I toyed with it, it is rather nice, just way too over powered for what I would use it for.

.Text is what the community server blog app spawned from. It has turned into Subtext, whisch is ASP.NET 2.0 / SQL server, and pretty cool...

  6. Many thanks to both of you.... lots of software to have a look at, but subText looks like it might be the one. [IMG]
