BlogEngine.NET Permissions

Discussion in 'General troubleshooting' started by MDunn, Aug 24, 2010.

  1. I have recently installed BlogEngine.NET on to my webserver and I'm having some trouble accessing the Control Panel.

The instructions on the DiscountASP.Net website say that the app_data folder inside the blog folder must be CHMOD to have write permissions in order for logging in to work but I can't do this via FTP. It says "command not understood".
I've read somewhere that I need to use the built in permission manager under tools and utilities to edit the permissions but when I select the app_folder on it says "no users exist" on the folder.

I now understand that because I am using a Windows 2008 IIS7 Server I essentially already have full access rights.

Does anyone know why I still cannot access the BlogEngine.NET Control Panel?

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks

  2. Are you getting any errors when browsing the back end for BlogEngine? If possible, can you give us a link to check it out?
