  1. i want to get three servers under the same domain to do a "poor man's" redundancy.

here's what i'd like to do:
    have server A be www.mydomain.com, server B be b.mydomain.com and server C be c.mydomain.com.

server A will get the request and redirect it to b.mydomain.com or c.mydomain.com.

    is this possible with discountasp.net?

  2. Possible, but complex. You'll have to signup multiple accounts and there's no guarantee you won't be provisioned on the same server you are currently on.

Maybe (this is a bigmaybe)if you're real nice to support, theymight notify you when a fresh server goes live, then you can provision to that server.
The request redirecting you can handle yourself witha custom web application.

You can create a script in your domain root to automatically redirect the request.

  4. If I sign up for multiple accounts, can i have them all be the same domain and just different subdomains?

  5. It is not possible to setup a.yourdomain.com as it's own service. But you can register or transfer in domain names, and setup a domain pointer service on each account (the domain pointers being a.yourdomain.com, b.yourdomain.com, c.yourdomain.com).

You can use our DNS manager (in the control panel) to point to each account.

  6. That sounds like costing lots of $ $$ to spend

  7. If you wanna setup seperate accounts for each one, you'll have to pay for each one.

If you don't wanna register multiple domains, you can always use ficticious domains like mydomain.com, mydomain-2.com, mydomain-3.com.

Then have support setup domain pointers for a.mydomain.com, b.mydomain.com, c.mydomain.com, etc. Or set them up with unique ip's.
