  1. [IMG]So, like, I just wrote about 200+ pages in classic ASP code. Since it has taken me a little time, I would like to knowwhether or not MSFT plans to lop off the vital parts of those of us that are trying to keep up. In other words, with all this.NET hype, does anyone there care about the old beat up car in the back lot? Will it stay parked near a barn in the midwest to be admired amongst the porcine fumes? Or, are they going to melt it down for scrap, never to be seen and difficult to allude to for lack of evidence of is initial existence? [IMG]

  2. Do you remember windows 98? Would you like to go back to that OS? I feel the same way about classic... Crush it

  3. [IMG]Thanks for the replies in advance even if some are a'slammin'. My code does precisely what I want it to do and I guess that is the important thing.[IMG]

  4. Classic ASP, especially the server directives in version 3, still have a place. [IMG]

There'seven new books coming out from Microsoft Press on continuing to run Classic ASP with ASP.NET

Microsoft still uses some ASP pages, as do most of the heavy ASP.NET tutorial sites.
You still can't beat the simplicity some of the classic features offer.

Sure, it's a round trip on the server, it's interpreted, but it's simple, fun and gets the job done side-by-side with ASP.NET

Check out Scott's latest blog about sharing security with ASP.NET and Classic ASP, pretty neat stuff:
