I have a site which has the auction software from rainworx called rwauction pro 7. http://www.rwauction.com/ It is installed and running on their hosting. They don't offer a control panel and the ftp is awfully slow. Can you register com dll's as required by their software? Do you move the existing site and setup with a new account? Thanks

  2. Hi,
DASP servers are all Shared so this sort of thing is not supported but you do have full control over your ASP.NET /bin/ for binaries that run, with no problems, on ASP.NET
You can however always feel free to make suggestions to DASP, they have a history of listening to customers. ;-)
Please understand some of these measures are in place for all of our good.
    All the best,
    Mark

Most hosters do not install 3rd party dll on their server. It is a real mess if you start installing 3rd party dlls.

For example, if customer A purchase a component and we installed it. In a few months, if customer B wants us to install a newer version. What do we do??

  4. Can ASP.NET store versioned DLLs? I thought that was the purpose in defining a specific version in registering DLLs in, say, web.config.

Yes. ASP.NET component can support multiple version but original poster is referring to COM object.
