Confirmation E-mail

It is my understanding that when a new user sets up an account on the website, that user will receive a confirmation e-mail that will enable them to begin purchasing items on the site. Is this true? If so, how do I correct the problem if the confirmation e-mail is not being generated? I created my own user account and tried to add items to the shopping cart, but it does not allow me to do so. It simply says that the cart is empty.

Please advise.

What website are you referring to (just wondering because you mentioned some shopping cart)?
In case,you were referring to an issue with the welcome confirmation email after you sign up with discountasp ,you can contact the DASP support team,so that they can resend you the confirmation email.

I think I sent you an email response through helpdesk. Your cart is osCommerce, so you'll have to find someone who has experience using it. It's more commonly used on UNIX servers, but maybe someone here has played with it.

If you aren't comfortable with the configuration or editing those files your best bet would be to hire someone with osCommerce experience to tweak it for you and make sure it's running properly. I haven't dealt with osCommerce for a few years, but as I recall it required a lot of tweaking before it behaved properly. I never installed it on a Windows server, so there may be a whole slew of other issues to contend with.
