  1. I would like to host my website on discountasp.net, but I would like to keep my sql server at another host. Does discountasp.net allow web applications to connect to remote sql servers?

I'm sorry we couldn't get to your question sooner.

As long as the foreign database server will accept incoming connections that originate from our network, you shouldn't encounter any problems as we do not filter outbound connections.

If your database is behind a firewall and you need the IP address of the web server to whitelist it, just open a ticket with the Technical Support department after you establish your account and we'll be glad to assist you.

  3. I have a similar issue. I have a website that calls on a SQL database. I use a 3rd party DNS service that provides fail-over capability. I'm looking for a host to use as a fail-over for all of my websites, but would need to call back to the SQL server at the primary host (I'm not doing SQL fail-over at this time). This website works fine from my local machine up to the other host, so I know remote calls are supported by the SQL Server and database. Is there a way to test this access from your servers before signing up? Or maybe a better question would be, if this didn't work, could I cancel within the 30 days?

  4. We dont have a test account but we do offer a 30 day money back guarantee.
