    Hi,
    I have a few questions regarding DASP.NET

    1) Is there a minimum contract for either of the plans? (i.e. if I go for the 3 month plan, am I obliged to anything after the 3 months are up?).

    2) I've been developing my site with SQL Server 2005, but am not doing anything complicated. Will my application still work with SQL Server 2008? Or would it better to opt for the 2005 version (even though there's less space?)

    3) If in the future I wish to switch hosts, how can I maintain my database across hosts so that no information is lost? do I have to pay any extra charges to transfer the SQL database/download the database to my local machine, or is there some other method?

Thanks for any help. I've heard good things about DASP, and am quite keen to host with you guys. Just need to clear those things up :)!

    1. In order for customers sites to not experience any disruptions, we renew account automatically at its anniversary date.
    2. You can choose either sql 2005 or sql 2008. If your app uses sql 2005, you can migrate to sql 2008. You will need to use sql 2008 tools to maintain your database though - eg sql 2008 management studio. We also provide a web based sql manager for both sql 2005 and sql 2008.
    3. We provide a sql backup tool in the control panel.

    Hi,

Thanks for the replies. Just to clarify, if I was to give you notice before the 3 months are up that I would like to not renew, will that be possible without a fee?

Same with the SQL Server. I assume that backingup a database/transferring it is also possible without a fee?

    1. you can cancel your site at any time we can terminate it at the end of the 3 months.
    2. SQL is an addon to the base plan. But you can use the SQL backup tool and download your sql backup anytime you want. There is no fee for this.

Thanks for the replies. I don't hope I'll have to take you the 3 months/SQL transferring options (and, from what I've heard from friends, that's not something I have to worry about with DASP), but I've dealt with other hosts before who start adding fees when you try and leave so just wanted to clarify things.
