    Anyone here use DasBlog?

    We have seen some serious hanging with this application with some of our customers.

    I'd agree.

    The common problem we are seeing is caused by DasBlog trying to instantiate a messageBox control (WinForm Control) in an ASP.NET application which cause the application pool to hang!!

  3. I think it's unfortunate to see the discountasp.net staff bash an open source project that clearly many people use when the mistake wasn't the app but rather an issue within the ASP.NET framework.

    Anyway, I need to make several directories under my dasblog directory read/write for the following users:

    * ASP.NET Machine Account '{machinename}\ASPNET'
    * Network Service 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'

    Is there any way from the control panel to do this myself? I can't seem to find anything that would allow me to do this.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

    Well.. this forum is here for opened discussion rather than a support forum and thus we encourage staff members to express their personal opinions.

    Thanks for the link regarding DASBlog.

    You can use the control panel to edit the IUSR permission. As for ASPNET user, it is always set with change permission (unless FrontPage extension changed the permission).

  7. I'm willing to develop a DASP Blog for the community to share if you guys think it's a good idea.
    Can create both a SQL Server version and an Access version with the same features.
