Demo Websites

  1. Hi everybody,
    I have an web site hosted with discount asp which provides services for web development,
    I am working on 2 demo projects and both of them share same database with my current one and i want to put those 2 projects online as my portfolio
    but i dont want to open another account just to host my demo projects and they have sperate web.config file and other asp.net folders but all three share same database..
    any suggestion thank you..arpit

    put your demo inside a sub directory or your site?

  3. Arpit,

    Did you know you can set up a sub-directory to function as a separate web application? Just create the two directories via FTP, then log in to your control panel and use the Web Application Tool to turn them into application directories. They will then be complete with their own web.config and App_code folders just like your root. Easy breezy! /emoticons/smile.gif

    I did tried that option but if u consider that i have 2 demo projects which have their own web.config files and App_code folders..and i dont want to start another account for
    demo projects..
    Please suggest something if u can as asp.net dont allow web.config main features in subdirectories
