Destination is invalid in response to add CNAME

Preparing to setup google apps
They require creating a CNAME record that points to google.com
When I enter google.com as the destination, dns-manager-edit displays 'Destination is invalid'

 

there was another CNAME record with the same destination

Once I removed that, I was able to add the new one

We're going to do a step-by-step tutorial for setting up Google apps to handle mail. It's been in the pipeline for a while, but we haven't got to it. Thanks for reminding me.
