Differences in the number of databases listed between Visual Web Developer Express and SSMSE?

    In troubleshooting a problem I had with getting SQL Server Management Studio Express to connect with the SQL Server 2005 database at DiscountASP, I discovered a couple of interesting things.
    </o:p>
    If you connect using SSMSE, you get a listing of every database in DASP SQL 2005 in the Object Pane, even if you supply the name of your own database in the ?Connect to Database? section of the "Connection Properties" of the "Connect To Server" dialog box.
    </o:p>
    Yet if I connect to SQL Server 2005 using the Database Explorer tool in Visual Web Developer Express (admittedly, you can?t change the database structure here), and provide my Initial Catalog name as the Database File Name, I go directly to my own database without seeing all the others.
    </o:p>
    I recall reading in another post something to the effect that Microsoft was working on a fix for that described in paragraph two above, so I?m assuming this is due to a difference of capabilities between SSMSE and VWDE.
    </o:p>
    But if my assumptions are incorrect, how do you go to your own database directly in SSMSE without see a list of all the others?
    </o:p>
    Best regards,
    </o:p>Lar

    Yes. THis is a client issue.
    I have not heard anything about MSFT coming out with a fix soon though.
