  1. Hi,

My main domain is www.kicchip.co.uk (non-discountasp), and I have pages on discount asp www.servdotnet.com

I'd like my kicchip users to access discount asp server so the address looks like this:

    www.kicchip.co.uk/servdotnet

So in a single address my users appear to be connected to kicchip but the page is delivered from discount asp. This is important. I have tried frames and other techniques but it didn't give a single address solution as above.

I have purchased DNS management from my non discount asp host so that I can create A/CNAME record to point to discount asp. But this requires an IP address rather than a URL. I have looked at my ip address in discount asp control panel but don't know how to use it - I have tried pasting the IP (and some URL path extensions) in my browser but cant seem to get to www.servdotnet.com with it, so not sure about that.

I'm not sure if this helps but I don't use email service from discount asp - so that can break if a solution is available.

Any help would be very welcome, thanks in advance..

    Michael

It is a shared IP, it will not lead directly to your site.

If you need a unique IP (that will lead directly to your site) you can get one by ordering the Unlimited Subdomain add-on.

  3. Does this apply to the FTP server too?

If I have purchased the unique IP addon can I use the IP address to access the FTP server for my site (so I can set up an ANAME record for ftp.mydomain.com on my external dns provider)?

Yes, you can set up an A record for FTP when you have a unique IP.
