Directory for web service

  1. I'd like to publish a wcf web service that allows me access to my website database. Can I publish it to the root directory of my website or do I need to use a subdirectory? I am using the Visual Studio 11 Beta. Once published, how do I start the service?

  2. Not authorized

I tried to publish with one-click publishing using the values from my account information page but I get an error that a connection was made but could not be authorized. Using correct login/password. Now what?

"Web deployment task failed. (Connected to the destination computer ("web703.discountasp.net") using the Web Management Service, but could not authorize."
