  1. Hi,

I didn't know whether to start a new thread or reply to the one below.

I have installed DNN4, and it mostly works. I created a new page and added a blog module. Now whenever I try to access this page I get an error that the directory /blog does not exist.

In the install instructions for DNN it mentions:

the {Server}/NetworkService user account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the root website directory and subdirectories ( this allows the application to create files/folders )

I don't understand how I can do this. I have the following 3 users defined in my user/quota manager:

    my account user
    Anonymous ASPNet User
    Anonymous User (IUSR)

These users have plenty of quota available. I can only see one user in the permissions manager:

Anonymous. He has read/write permissions to the root directory. I can't see how I could add permissions for either of the other users (and indeed, I wouldn't know which one to add if I did).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. How do I do it though? Either I can't - or the user interface is extremely unintuitive. In my permissions manager I have this:

In my user manager I have this:

If I could see the users in the permission manager then I would know what to do. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

Set the IUSR to have change permission. That should do it for you.

do you have Frontpage extension installed? FPSE can totally mess up the NTFS permission.

Open a ticket and send them a complete path that your applicaiton is trying to write to. We can check the permission for you.

  5. but DNN Definitely falls over with a permissions problem if I try to create a blog.

based on the image, you should already have change permission.
