DNN is an awesome collection of code and binaries but it is the top dog in resource hungry CMS apps.

I don't in anyway want to knock it, simply stating the way it is.

  2. I kind of knew that it won't be the fastest option, but was hoping to do at least kind of okay. I guess I have to decide what to do with it and so far there are only two options I see. Switch to an other asp.net CMS like mojoportal or completely forget about the asp.net CMS and use a php based system like drupal, joomla, ...

    Thanks for your thoughts!

  3. Hello,

More and more of my website users complain about the poor performance of the site. I tried different settings (caching) but nothing seems to work. I have the keepalive.aspx on all day long without any success.

I bench marked the website using www.gomez.com/info_center/instant-test.php

    I tested the following URLs

    www.canada-experts.com/dnn/: between 22 and 25 seconds
    www.canada-experts.com/dnn/Forum/tabid/66/Default.aspx: between 6 and 10 seconds
www.canada-experts.com/dnn/Überuns/tabid/64/Default.aspx: between 5 and 10 seconds (and this is a simple one).

Some users (including myself) get sometimes a timeout.

Can you give some advice? Are there certain settings which work best for discountasp.net hosting?

    Thanks!
    Stephan
