domain status with whois

    Hi, I have registered from discountasp.net a domain name and I did a whois request on it recently . I see 2Domain status: clientTransferProhibited and clientUpdateProhibited.

    What does that mean ? Is there a way to remove thatstatus code ?How limited is my"ownership" aboutsuch adomain name ?

    The domain is owned by you as stated in the registrant field. Those status is created by OpenSRS to indicate that the domain is locked for transfer. We lock the domain because there are a lot of scammer out there trying to illegally transfer your domain.
