  1. My customer has a local production database running on SBS with a SQL 2000 back end. I'm putting up a website for them with a SQL 2005 back end. I need to DTS data back and forth about every hour. Small files.

What is the best practice for this?

Looking at your forum posts it seems that attaching to the SQL 2005 database through their SQL 2000 Enterprise Manager and running a scheduled DTS packagein Enterprise Manager is the way to go. It seems from looking at the Microsoft materials that I CAN download an update to SQL 2000 Enterprise Manager to do this.

Has anyone made this work? Am I on the right track?

Really appreciate any feedback. I need to get this project moving along.

    Thanks!

We do not allow you to schedule DTS package to run on our server for security reasons.

You can, however, schedule the DTS package to run on yourlocal SQL server to push the data up to our server.
