  1. Hi code guru's

Support tells me that I can not use data base mail. Can anyone show me some sample code where the database is sending an email in response to a trigger.

    Thank you in advance.

Database Mail and SQL Mail features are disabled on our shared SQL Servers for the performance reason. It is not possible to send emails from the databases hosted on those shared servers.

  3. Thanks dmitri,

Thats a bit hard to digest. How do clients repond to items like feed back our new registrations if the database is unable to communicate these changes?

You can give the email handling to your application, or write an application to query your db and send you changes.

Mail from the SQL servers is not an option for performance reasons, as Dmitri pointed out, but also as an anti-spam measure. Mail servers are closely monitored for spam activity, but a database that sends spam could do significant damage before we had a chance to detect a problem.
