email in dotnetnuke

    I'm trying to configure a dotnetnuke site to send outside the local domain. it appears only email addresses that are in the domain are being sent, but when sending elsewhere, the message does not leave the network. I've tried using smtp authentication with my mail server and username & password just as I would have it setup in outlook. any help would be appreciated.

    make sure you are using 'localhost' as your SMTP server in DNN.
