Email issues

  1. What is the official mailbox size limit? I haven't spent much time experimenting, but I was unable to receive several emails with attachements of approx 10MB.

Why do we even have that limit???? I paid for 350MB of disk space, why can't I receive a 10MB file attached to my email?

Email boxes have a 15MB quota. The largest email accepted is 6MB.

Your website disk space is separate from your email storage. We do not count email storage as part of your website disk space. Limits are imposed so that the email service is not degraded for all our customers. For example, we scan all emails for viruses. A large file takes up a lot of server resources to scan.

There are alternatives to sending large attachments via email. You can use an upload script in your website. You can compress and upload files to a website and just email the link. Finally, if you absolutely need to have 10MB attachments, then you can use an outside email service that supports this feature. We provide a DNS manager where you can update your MX records.
