CLR support for SQL 2k5 is not supported due to security and perfomance issues.

Unlike IIS, SQL 2k5 CLR integration does not have any restriction on CPU usage or crash protection. For example, if you put some poorly coded assembly into the CLR, it will hang the whole SQL server.

I doubt that you can find any shared hosting company (at least those who know what they are doing) will provide support for this feature.

  2. I looked all over the control panel for the ability to enable CLR in my 2k5 db. I also tried running the sp_configure to change clr enabled to true but as I suspected I didn't have the access. Please let me know how I can get you guys to turn it on for me.

    Thanks,
    Zac
