Encrypting Personal Information in SQL Server 2000

  1. We are about to launch our website, but are concerned about a few fields in the database that will contain sensitive information such as name, address, and ssn. Is there an easy way to encrypt these fields in the database? We're already using an SSL cert, but our concern is around someone reading the information directlyfrom the database.
