  1. Not sure if this is a Frontpage or MS Access question (both?).

Using MS Access 2002, Frontpage 2002.

Trying to update the database using a web page, I get the following:

"Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e09'

Cannot update. Database or object is read-only."

Knowledge Base article says something about uploading the database using Frontpage so access is not restricted, but doesn't give an example. Database example says to put databases in a directory labeled "_database" in the web. Got the pages that read data from the database working that way, but no joy on writing to the database. Frontpage 2002 on my machine will not allow me to use that directory for my database, and I'm concerned the old database on my local machinemay overwrite the newer data on the web server that way.

What is the proper way to create and update active databases using Frontpage?
