  1. I need ffmpeg.exe installed on my server. How can this be achieved ?

    It wouldn't work out on a Shared host anyway, since it streams.
    You'll need a Dedicated host for that.
    Depending on what you want to do with it you might consider Silverlight Steaming.

  5. I'm actually interested in the transcoding abilites of FFMPEG, not in the streaming part...
     
  6. Thanks a lot for your advices,
    I'm actually looking for hosting a youtube-like video site, and i need to enable users to upload videos in any format, and than encode them to flv. To do this, I need ffmpeg.exe installed on the server...
    I understood that I either need a dedicated server (or virtual one) or use the Expression Encoder, which I haven't heard about till now...
