I log in to the DASP fora ~10am EDT and find spam in several places. Are these spam coming from DASP clients? If we're not being spammed by our fellow customers, how does that stuff get in here?
Amazingly people register just to put spam. I have no idea how they make money spending that much time to do that but thats life I guess. Most of it you guys dont even see. Some will always fall through the cracks. Sorry about that.
You don't even see 99% of the spam, only the tip of the iceberg that pokes through the the water. We have methods to intercept most of it before it's publicly visible. Spam is just a fact of life for most forums/blogs/etc.
Just for the record: Those "Asian Escort" spams in the forum while I was away for a few days were targeted to my threads in these forums because of a Chinese spammer hunting me down. I'll give the meat of the background on how it started, just as a note. A good friend of mine in California runs a U.S. based "Artful Living" series of media. It's very good and she recently sent many of us an Email about "not buying certain Chinese made goods in the U.S." Well as it turns out, all too often, she didn't use a BCC field in the mailing. All of us are now being tracked down. Time to get out the Samaria sword. ;-)
