   I am having problems maintaining FTP connections on larger files (20 MB and up). I have used multiple FTP programs and have used both my home (roadrunner) and office (DSL) and getting repeated failures and no success. It seems the operations are timing out and it displays a message to the effect of "connection with server has been lost or reset"

   most likely a Antivirus problem.
   
   Some AV software terminate long connections. Try disable your AV and try upload again.
