  1. You should use the temporary FTP address for your account for the first few days.
It's shown in your Control Panel with the real FTP address.

  2. Hi,

I just set up an account with DASP. Logging in via the Control Panel is a snap. However, I'm trying to gain ftp access into my account so I can push files to the site. Using SmartFTP v1.5, I'm getting a 530 error: User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible. Things don't fare any better with VWD Express 2008 as it tells me that either my username and/or password are incorrect, or I don't have permission to access the site. My username and password are correct. That must mean I don't have permission to access the site.

What's going on? I thought using the same credentials for the Control Panel and ftp would be the same (it is with all my other sites with DASP). I even tried creating a new user and setting the necessary permissions, but I'm given no permissions to choose from. None whatsoever. Checking the checkbox near any account listed in the IIS Manager Permissions tab of the IIS Tools section doesn't make any difference either. /emoticons/shakehead.gif

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks,
    Roshawn

I tried using the temporary ftp address but the results are still the same. What now? /emoticons/confused.gif

  4. Also, using the temporary ftp address, I get an error saying that it was unable to resolve the host name. What gives?

  5. I think the problem has something to do with IIS7. My other two website accounts both use IIS6 and I have absolutely no trouble with them. I didn't even have to create additional users in the User Manager.

This is making me /emoticons/mad.gif . Should I just give up and switch back to IIS6 and to hell with IIS7?

  6. Did you double-check your FTP username?

  7. Ha! I found the answer here. After making the necessary ftp username change in my ftp client, I was able to login successfully. /emoticons/smile.gif
