  1. Hello,

I was wondering if you could offer any information on why my upload speeds via ftp to my website might be so slow. I am on RoadRunner cable and don't seem to get above 9-10 KB/s upload speeds. Downloading from my site is good enough, about 160-170 KB/s.

My download rates from fast computers average between 600-700 KB/S. Uploads are hard to gauge. I don't do that much of it.

I am using Ipswitch WS_FTP Professional on Windows XP Pro.

    Thanks!

most Cable and DSL do offer a high download speed and very low upload speed. This is to prevent their customer to host website or distribute other content.

If you are getting good download speed but just poor upload speed, i think it's just a restriction on your isp.

  3. Yet, when I was running my website on my own servers on the same cable connection, folks could download from me between 20-40 Kb/s.

  4. Well, I don't know if anyone on the DASP end did anything, but now I'm holding in the 50-60KB/s range. Much, much better! :)

Nope.. i don't think so. I don't hear any network related issue on our end.
