Full-text search

How do I create a full-text search in ASP.NET - do I have access to the indexing service on the server or do I have to do this another way?

Ok - I've looked at the knowledge base article and I've looked at the associated MS article and these refer to indexing a sql server. Not bad - but I actually am not using a sql server on this website. I want to do a full-text search of the website content without using sql. Is this even possible? For some reason, I thought that I could write code against the indexing server and it automatically categorizes my page content. Am I off on that as well? Sorry for the newbie questions. Thanks in advance...
