  1. Help!!!I built a website with 123-reg in the uk.I put in the proper dns etc, but when I try to view website I get Welcome To DiscountASP.NET
If you can see this default page, then your site is setup!
You can begin to upload your site and remove this index.htm file.

can someone with a bit of knowledge please help me get an idea of what to do.Thanks:confused:

  2. So where is the website hosted at the moment? The index.htm page you're seeing right now is the default placeholder page that resides in the root of new / unconfigured discountASP.NET accounts.

  3. it was hosted by 123-reg,but for some strange reason they state that I cannot update the site with them whilst they host. The control panel shows the following:Access my InstantSite Account
    Manage DNS
    Web Forwarding
    E-mail Management
    Change Nameservers
    Change IPS Tag
    Modify Contact Details
    WHOIS Opt out
Transfer Domain to another 123-reg user
    Display or Print an Invoice
    Domain Parking
I can give info from it if it helps

  4. Hi again,

I'm familiar with 123-reg and it's control panel because I have a few domains registered over there myself, but I've never built a website using their instant site or site builder tools.

If that's what you've done and you want to get this website hosted in your DASP account, you're going to need to get your hands on the html/asp pages and all other assets used (images, css, javascript etc) in the site.

Once you have the complete set of files for the site on your local machine, you should be able to simply FTP this lot up to your DASP account. I think that's it really, unless I've misunderstood something.

If you need support obtaining all of the files for the site, this will be a question for 123-Reg support to answer but feel free to post again here if you have any DASP related questions.
