Giving access to the cPanel

    I have someone developing a website for me in Wordpress. In order to install it they are asking for access to the cPanel. Am I not really vulnerable giving them that information? Is that standard for a developer to ask for that?

    You can install WordPress without the use of the Control Panel. You can use good ol' fashion FTP.

    Have considered downloading and using Microsoft WebMatrix. This is a free tool you can download and install form Microsoft's website. WebMatrix is an authoring tool to help you create, maintain, and publish websites to a hosting platform. It has WordPress as one of the canned apps repository.
