    webmail.pharpac.com won't work. Try updating the MX records to just the domain name: pharpac.com, not www.pharpac.com.

    It can take a while for Google to pick up your MX changes sometimes. I've set up Gmail on two domains and it took about 18 hours each time.

  2. Thank you mjp. As always, customer support at DASP.Net is beyond expectations. I'll try your suggestion.

  3. Hi,
    Has anyone successfully set up Gmail hosting through DASP.Net? I have been struggling with it for several days, and after each 2-day waiting period, Gmail always says "It appears that your MX records have not changed". I changed them the first day to this:

    Code:
    [B]Domain Name[/B]
    [B]Destination[/B]
    [B]Distance[/B]
    [B]TTL[/B]

    [url="http://www.pharpac.com"]www.pharpac.com[/url]
    ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    10
    3600

    [url="http://www.pharpac.com"]www.pharpac.com[/url]
    ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    15
    3600

    [url="http://www.pharpac.com"]www.pharpac.com[/url]
    ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    15
    3600

    [url="http://www.pharpac.com"]www.pharpac.com[/url]
    ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM
    20
    3600

    [url="http://www.pharpac.com"]www.pharpac.com[/url]
    ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM
    20
    3600

    [url="http://www.pharpac.com"]www.pharpac.com[/url]
    ASPMX4.GOOGLEMAIL.COM
    20
    3600

    [url="http://www.pharpac.com"]www.pharpac.com[/url]
    ASPMX5.GOOGLEMAIL.COM
    20
    3600

    And that didn't work twice. So, I changed them again, but this time to:
    Code:
    [B]Domain Name[/B]
    [B]Destination[/B]
    [B]Distance[/B]
    [B]TTL[/B]

    webmail.pharpac.com
    ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    10
    3600

    webmail.pharpac.com
    ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    15
    3600

    webmail.pharpac.com
    ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    15
    3600

    webmail.pharpac.com
    ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM
    20
    3600

    webmail.pharpac.com
    ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM
    20
    3600

    webmail.pharpac.com
    ASPMX4.GOOGLEMAIL.COM
    20
    3600

    webmail.pharpac.com
    ASPMX5.GOOGLEMAIL.COM
    20
    3600

    Am I doing something wrong?

    thanks,

  4. Were you able to successfully move your mail to Google?

  5. I too am trying to get this to work with no success. I've waited for 24+ hours to ensure that the DNS is correct but it's still failing trying to send email an account at my domain.

  6. Works like a champ. Here's my MX record:

  7. Thanks for the reply. I have the same settings but whenever I try to reply to an email sent from Gmail that's associated with my domain it 'fails permanently'. I guess I need to triple check all my settings.

    Thanks again,
    -Steve

  8. Don't forget about the earlier post. As I recall, it took Google well over 24 hours to recognize my MX settings.

    Good luck. It's worth the work. Google's spam filtering is excellent.

    This option seems to become more and more popular, 50 bucks a year for Gmail features is pretty great.

  10. Thanks for the reply!

    You hit the nail, Google's spam filtering kicks Yahoo to the curb. After nearly 10 years with Yahoo email I've about had it.

  11. Ah, not $50 a year. Try zero.

    Does your failure message look anything like this?

    Technical details of permanent failure:
    PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 13): 550-Verification failed for <xxx@xxxxxx.com>
    550-No Such User Here
    550 Sender verify failed

    I was getting these errors on my hosted Gmail for a while and I tracked it down to an incorrect SPF record on the domain. I know you're thinking that's obvious, but I never added an SPF record to my DNS -- it was part of a default DNS template that I overlooked (yeah!). Once I removed the SPF record the errors stopped.

  13. The error is:

    'This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification

    Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

    steve@<mydomain>.com

    Technical details of permanent failure:
    PERM_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 13): 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for steve@<mydomain>.com'

    I've scheduled another MX record scan which says it could take 48 hours.

    Btw, what are the right SPF settings? Google doesn't specify what you should use for spam prevention.

    I wouldn't even attempt an SPF record for sending from Google. They employ literally thousands of mail servers, so it would be very difficult to create an SPF record that included all of them (as soon as you did they would add 100 new ones anyway). I removed SPF from my domain completely, and haven't seen any errors in Gmail since.

    But I never experienced any relaying errors, so you're dealing with a different problem.

  15. Thanks for the follow-up. Perhaps I need to start from scratch.
