1. Hey All,

So I'm hosting my email with godaddy but my site here on DASP. The godaddy tech people said that I needed to add the following MX record:

MX 0 smtp.secureserver.net

...however I can't add a record with a distance of less than 10. What can I do?

2. Distance is merely used to designate priority. The actual number value isnt important. Meaning 10,20,30 are the same as 100,200,300 or 100,101,102.

mjp

If that's your only MX record the distance value is irrelevant. You can use 10. If you have other MX records you just want to make sure smtp.secureserver.net has the lowest distance value. Then it will be used first.

We touch on the distance subject in some other Gmail topics.

4. Okay thanks guys! I'll give it a shot.
